We had a lovely night's sleep in the free car park area in Auray. Even though we weren't really supposed to empty the toilet there we did.

Gareth was woken in the night by the heavy rain, not sure it was that heavy, just the drips coming off the tree we were parked under. He said that every now and again he got a little drip through the window above his part of the bed on his bare legs, he only noticed because I've changed the quilt to the winter one which is 13.5 tog and he was so hot!

Today we are heading south from Auray towards Bordeaux. We have stopped a few times in Aires to stretch our legs and obviously the necessary ciggy break but have mainly been on a toll road, the total cost of which was €44.17!

We've been through rain, sun, rain and sun! Seen lots of nice scenery, been over some viaducts and some really high bridges 😲 over lots of lovely rivers, including the Loire, the Dordogne and the Garonne.

Just after passing Saints before Bordeaux the sun made a welcome appearance and the temperature was up to 20 degrees🌞, lovely sitting in the van feeling that warmth on us.

We have stopped in a little place called Belin Beliet, a pair of hamlets really. They provide a lovely square of grassland and hardstanding if you prefer between the old church and the cemetery. It's great, there's a toilet too 😁👍all free.

We took a walk up to the supermarket to buy some dinner and wandered around looking for a bar but sadly the only one is a half hour walk, so we settled for cold Budweiser and Guinness followed by a lovely glass of Malbec after dinner.

So not much to report today, only a couple of hours from the Spanish border so will head that way tomorrow. If things are locking down there we will just pop back into France after getting cigarettes.

It's 8.15 here and we are sat outside of the van, no awning, it's lovely 😊.

Bye for now xx
